There is none like you among the gods, O Lord,
nor are there any works like yours.
All the nations you have made shall come
and worship before you, O Lord,
and shall glorify your name.
For you are great and do wondrous things;
you alone are God.
Teach me your way, O LORD,
that I may walk in your truth;
unite my heart to fear your name.
(Psalm 86:8-11 ESV)

David says that "All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name."  But why worship and glorify the Lord?  And How can we worship Him?

"For you are great and do wondrous things. You alone are God!"  And David also says, "There is none like you among the gods, nor are there any works like yours."  Certainly David has mind the power of God- He alone is the Creator and Sustainer of the earth.  He showed his might over demonic gods in Egypt when he set his people free and in Canaan when all the gods of the nations were displaced.  Yahweh has power unlike all other demonic gods.  However, earlier in the psalm David exalts in Yahweh's forgiveness, goodness, and covenant love.

Other "gods" may have power to amazing things but only Yahweh extends covenant love and forgiveness to his people.

That is His offer to you this morning.  Come experience love, forgiveness and power.  Come and worship before the Lord and glorify his Name.
